This assignment encourages you to explore the creative potential of AI-generated images and incorporate them into your own digital artwork. By using AI-generated images as a starting point, you will produce a visually engaging digital collage that reflects your unique artistic vision.

Your collage may NOT include depictions of any of the following: drugs, sex, alcohol or guns.

Instructions
1. Explore AI Image
Generation
-
Explore AI image generation tools such as Bing Image Creator. Experiment with generating and customizing images.
-
Try including a medium in your image description (ex: watercolour, 3D, stained glass, etc.)
-

Choose or create a series of AI-generated images that resonate with you or align with your artistic vision.
-
Left-Click on the generated image and click on “Download”.
-

The file will save to your Downloads folder as .jpeg with a gibberish filename.
-
Move this and any other generated images to a “AI Collage” folder in your Media Design Folder, in your OneDrive!

2. Concept Development
-
Brainstorm ideas for your digital collage. ​​

What styles (aesthetics) are you drawn to?
-
​What themes or narratives do they want to convey?
-
How will AI-generated images fit into their concept?
-
3. Gathering Images
-
Collect a selection of AI-generated images that will serve as the foundation for your collage.

Keep a record of the prompts of these AI-generated image.
-
You can save these on a word or notepad file in your “AI Collage” folder.

Your assignment will not get a passing grade without this!!

4. Digital Collage
Creation
Watch the video demonstrating the process of creating a digital collage using Photoshop.
Learn the following techniques: layering, blending, and masking.

Try to manipulate the AI-generated images creatively to fit your concept.

Be mindful of the importance of your composition, balance, and visual impact.
5. Feedback

Find a peer to look at your work. Look at theirs in exchange.
-
When giving feedback, it is important that it is constructive; provide comments, advice, or suggestions that are useful for your peer’s work or their future work.

How effectively were the AI-generated images integrated into the artwork?

Remember to be kind.​ You are commenting on the work, not on the artist.

6. Edit
After receiving feedback on your own work, edit your work to improve it further.
7. Gallery Walk

Everyone will have their collage open on their screen on the 7th day, finished or not.

You will have the opportunity to wander and see what others created.
8. Publish to Portfolio
